I don’t know about you, but when I started my vegan journey I was more than happy to embrace all the new dishes I could find. At the time I managed to get my hands on just the one vegan cookbook, and made everything. Not all at once mind, I’m not that greedy. I was excited about this new way of living, and I wasn’t looking back. After a few months though, there were a few dishes I began to miss, from either my veggie days, or from the omni days before that. Because the thing is we all become vegan for so many reasons. Some people I know simply cannot stand the thought of eating meat, and that’s all they need to get them through. I however did miss things, and I was determined not to let my resolve slip. After all when you have a child who’s managed for 2 years without meat due to their own decision, I had to keep up my side of the bargain. But there were dishes that I missed, and over the past couple of years I’ve been compiling recipes and notes with our favourites in. We’re lucky that the shops are catching up now. There’s such a demand for vegan food that finally the big boys are taking notice. But there’s nothing like a bit of home made grub and that’s why we are here to help.
