Arrabiata Pasta Sauce

We’ve been having a dabble at making our own fresh pasta as this sauce is one of my favourites. Its a go-to safety meal when eating out as its naturally vegan, this is the version we make at home.


  • 1 red onion
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 pinches dried chilli flakes
  • 1 generous teaspoon of dried basil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Heat the oil in a large pan. Add the onion and cook until softened. Add the garlic and cook for a further two minutes. Add the pepper and cook for 5 minutes stirring frequently. Add the chilli and basil and stir in well.

Add the tomatoes and simmer for 10 mins.

Job done.
